Meat Cracks
Owner Ulrich Kagleder said the company had been at the show for three years, but that it took a while to get into the Arabian market. "However, the Arabic market is huge, so it is important for companies to come here," he said, adding that the halal market, in particular, was a major opportunity. At the show the company – which supplies flavours, spices and emulsifiers – was promoting its water-binding products in order to produce high-quality sausages, that are affordable. Products are designed to increased quality, but without adding cost to the product, said Kagleder. "We offer technical support to get better outcomes for the production process, as a lot of companies don’t have the technology to produce in an economic way," he added. In terms of meat consumption trends, he said hot dogs and luncheon meat were very popular in the region.
