GEA Food Solutions has installed two new poultry processing lines at Cargill’s new integrated poultry operation in Lai’an in the Anhui province of China.
The two 1,000mm wide lines were delivered, installed, commissioned over a period of nine months.
The firm reported that, following the installation, Cargill delivered its first shipment of chicken nuggets from one of the new lines to McDonald’s earlier this month.
The first line processes nuggets at a rate of 30 tonnes per day, while the second processes boneless and bone-in poultry products.
The installation represents a €10 million order for GEA Food Solutions, which worked closely with GEA Refrigeration Technology for the deep-freeze and cooling part of the project.
Mikhail Volynkin, project manager for GEA Food Solutions, said: "China is an important region for both GEA and Cargill, and the success of this project has strengthened the long-standing relationship between our two companies."
