Brakes has developed a Vegan Jaffa Cake for foodservice, alongside a range of other cake offerings it says ‘mixes the classic with the modern’.
According to Brakes, the vegan line responds to the ‘burgeoning vegan sector’, which has grown by more than 400% in recent years.
The full vegan range includes Brakes’ Jaffa Cake, Salted Caramel Cake, Choc Fudge Cake Pre-Cut, Cherry & Chocolate Dessert, and Jam Roly Poly.
“We’ve developed a fantastic range of vegan products, which do not compromise on taste or quality and will help our customers take a slice of this increasingly lucrative sector,” said Brakes’ category manager bakery, desserts & ice cream, Vanessa Baker.

According to the category manager, research reveals a growing trend towards ‘familiar’ and ‘nostalgic’ comfort food – driven by COVID-19. “Our flagship vegan Jaffa Cake is perfect for that.”
