Fry's launch plant-based chicken alternatives
The Fry Family Food Co. is launching two new plant-based chick'n products into the meat-free freezers at Iceland and The Food Warehouse Stores across the UK. Both products have an RRP of £2.65.
Fry's plant-based Stars & Moons - lightly breaded chicken-style plant-based stars and moon shapes - are targeting 'busy mums and dads' looking to offer their children plant-based options at tea-time.
Fry's plant-based Chick'n Fillets are described as 'delicious and versatile chicken style fillets' that can be swapped into recipes to convert 'family favourite meals' to plant-based options.
The launch of the two new products follows the success of Fry's plant-based Popcorn Chick'n which was launched into Iceland and The Food Warehouse earlier this year.
"We are delighted to bring two new family proof products to the UK. Inspired by our families and our kids, we are excited to deliver convenient and delicious plant-based options to UK families," said Tammy Fry, Global Brand Lead of the The Fry Family Food Co., which is a LIVEKINDLY Collective brand.
An increasing number of consumers are opting for plant-based meats such as chicken alternatives.
“Consumers, and especially in the UK, are more aware now of what impact their food choices have on the environment. Plus, they have so many options to choose from. Really good products without compromise on taste, texture, or convenience. Hopefully it’s a lot easier for people now, to make a kinder choice," added Fry.
Andrew Staniland, Trading Director at Iceland elaborated: “Plant-based products such as Fry’s Stars & Moons are a great addition to our meat-free range, bringing visual appeal right from the pack through to the product itself – we know that kids are going to love it and that we are helping busy families to eat a little more plant-based.”
Fry's plant-based Stars & Moons is available in the meat free freezer at Iceland and The Food Warehouse.
