Australia looks to see tariff reduction following Japan deal
Australia finalised negotiations on an Economic Partnership Agreement with Japan - its second biggest trading partner - in April. It followed the successful conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement with South Korea in the same month. The Australian government said the deal with Japan would see the tariff on fresh beef cut to 23.5% over a period of 15 years, while the tariff on frozen beef would be halved from 38.5% to 19.5%.
