China-Australia trade deal struck
A Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between China and Australia was signed last month, in a move which could provide significant benefits to Australian beef producers. According to Meat & Livestock Australia, the meat and livestock sector could benefit by as much as AUS$1bn. And in further Asian-Australasia trade relations, New Zealand concluded an FTA with Japan, which will see the current tariff of 40% on beef from New Zealand removed over a period of 15-years.
