Summer trade agreements
In June it was announced that the US had agreed a deal with Hong Kong which will see an expanded range of US beef and beef products eligible for export to the region, following a ban in place since 2003. Other trade deals which took place over June and July, included China lifting its ban on Brazilian beef, and the approval of all imports of beef from Canada by Jamaica. The UK also made progress with China in its efforts to export beef and lamb to the country for the first time in 30 years, as it hopeful of developments in the near future.
