Food Safety Recall round-up 8-16 November 2017
Yorgo recall due to Listeria
US: Yorgo’s Foods Inc is recalling all Greek-style food products as they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Recalled products were distributed to retail stores nationwide. Most were distributed in 8, 12, 16 and 32 ounce plastic cups or 2 and 5 pound plastic bags.
The issue was identified after routine FDA environmental sampling identified L. monocytogenes in the processing environment and in one sample of “Original Tahini Sauce”.
Manufacturing of all foods has been voluntarily suspended while the FDA and company investigate and eliminate the source of the problem. No illnesses have been reported to date.
