Salmonella in walnuts
March - Canada: Transilvania Trading is recalling Trader Joe's brand walnuts due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The products may have been sold at Pirate Joe's, Vancouver, British Columbia.
There have been no reported illnesses bu the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.
It was triggered by a recall in the USA. Trader Joe’s Raw Walnuts were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide in the country.
The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by an outside company contracted by the FDA.
