Food Safety recall round-up 13 - 19 March
Contaminated cheese from France
March - Hong Kong: The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) has warned of a batch of cheese made with raw cow's milk, imported from France, that could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Coulommiers with raw milk (350g) has a best before date of March 30. It was also distributed to Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Spain.
Repertoire Culinaire HK, the importer concerned in Hong Kong, said the affected product had not entered the local market.
In a seperate incident, a high count of E.coli (1300000 CFU/g) was found in raw milk cheese from France from a company's own check.
The product was distributed to Lithuania, New Zealand and the UK, according to a RASFF notification updated on 18 March.
In another RASFF notice, findings of shiga toxin-producing E.coli (<1.0*10*3 CFU/g) in soft cheese from France prompted a recall from consumers this week.
It was distributed to Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
