Dairy-free parmesan alternative
Plant-based, dairy-free parmesan alternative Grattino is made from fermented cashews and macadamia nuts, together with water and a hint of salt.
The product, made by Casa Del Fermentino, is now available in the UK.
“Nuts are some of the most nutrient-dense foods. They are brim full of minerals such as magnesium and potassium, as well as healthy fats and protein,” according to nutritionist Cassandra Barns.
“However, raw whole nuts can be quite difficult to digest. The fermentation process that Casa del Fermentino products undergo greatly increases their digestibility, allowing us to properly absorb nearly all of those amazing nutrients. In addition you’re getting all the benefits of a plant-based food, such as lots of fibre and minimal saturated fat.”
