Gluten in buckwheat flour recalls
New Zealand: Davis Trading Company is recalling specific batches of its Essenté brand Buckwheat Flour 1kg due to potential confusion regarding gluten.
The product contains a declaration that it may contain traces of gluten. However it was sold with information stating it is gluten free but it contains gluten.
It is sold in a 1kg plastic bag with batch marking 325531, 328665, 326355 and dates 31 December 2017, 31 May 2018, and 10 April 2018.
Buckwheat flour containing gluten and used in products advertised as gluten-free has prompted numerous recalls in New Zealand.
Davis Trading also recalled a batch of buckwheat flour due to undeclared gluten.
Davis Trading brand buckwheat flour (10kg) batch number DLGH-170531-06-5T and date 31-5-2018 is affected.
