Food safety recall round-up 1-6 July 2017
Tuna salad labelled as chicken salad
US: Willow Tree Poultry Farm is recalling 440 pounds of tuna salad due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen.
The product contains tuna, a known allergen which is not declared on the label and packing was mislabelled as chicken salad.
Buffalo style chicken products were produced on June 27, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
12.5 oz. individual plastic containers of “buffalo style chicken salad” were shipped to Whole Foods Market in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
The problem was discovered by Whole Foods Market employees whilst unpacking it. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
