Clostridium botulinum concerns in organic tofu
29 April - UK: The Engine Shed has recalled packs of its vacuum-packed Organic Tofu that were produced with inadequate controlling factors to prevent the growth and toxin production of Clostridium botulinum.
Organic Plain Tofu, 300g and 1kg, Organic Smoked Tofu, 250g and Organic Tofu Burgers, 250g have a use-by date between 31 March and 23 May 2014.
The firm said that due to a packaging error some packs may have been labelled with an incorrect Use by Date.
The Food Standards Agency said the issue may cause a serious form of food poisoning called botulism.
