Food safety recall round-up 9-15 June 2017
Potential STEC in cheese
Germany: Fromagerie Gillot SAS has recalled cheese due to potential contamination by Shiga toxin producing E. coli (STEC).
Coulommiers au lait cru 250g with date 8-6-17 and identification mark FR 61402001 CE is involved. It was put on the German market by Ruwisch & Zuck Die Käsespezialisten GmbH & Co.
During a control, STEC was detected in the product. Despite the date having expired it cannot be ruled out that some remains with the consumer.
STEC (4.4x10E3 CFU/g) and coagulase-positive Staphylococcus (3x10E4 CFU/g) were detected in the raw cow's milk soft cheese, according to the RASFF portal.
