US: Tyson Foods Inc. is recalling almost 2.5m pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) breaded chicken due to undeclared milk.
RTE breaded chicken items were produced and packaged between August 17, 2016 to January 14, 2017, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS). For a list of affected items, dates and codes click here.
Products were shipped for institutional use nationwide and schools have purchased products through Tyson’s commercial channels.
The problem was discovered on 6 June when the company was told by an ingredient supplier that breadcrumbs it received and used in the recalled products potentially contained undeclared milk. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the products.
