Salmonella in nuts
September - USA: Sincerely Nuts is recalling packages of its Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces due to Salmonella.
Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces were distributed nationwide via online sales through the company’s website from June 16 through August 10 and at amazon.
The recall comes after routine testing by a contracted private laboratory revealed Salmonella in the 2lb. packages of Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces.
Production has been suspended while FDA and the company investigate the source of the problem but no illnesses have been reported.
Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole in 1lb., 2lb. and 5lb. packages bearing Lot Number T7R1A22045 and EXPIRES: 1/2016 on the back label and Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces 2lb. packages bearing EXPIRES: 11/2015 on the back label (there is no lot code) are affected.
