Nitrosamine levels prompt beer recall
9 May - Germany: Bamberg Brauerei Spezial has recalled two beers because of higher than permitted levels of nitrosamine.
Brauerei Spezial Lagerbier and Brauerei Spezial Märzen with best before dates from 29.04.2014 to 12.08.2014 are affected.
The affected products were distributed primarily in Upper Franconia.
Nitrosamine in beer originates from malt dried by direct-fired kilning, according to Mario M. Mangino and Richard A. Scanlan.
