Carrefour recalls wok vegetables after Salmonella detection
27 July 2012 – Retailer Carrefour initiated a recall of its own-brand beansprouts and wok vegetables in Belgium after Salmonella was detected during an inspection.
Six batches of varying wok vegetables have been removed from shelves.
“During an inspection conducted by the supplier, the presence of Salmonella was detected in the Carrefour and Carrefour Discount-brand bean sprouts and wok vegetables. Therefore, as a precaution, Carrefour decided to withdraw from sale the products,” said the translated recall notice.
Similar recalls have been initiated across Europe in relation to the potential contamination.
