Sauces containing contaminated onion recalled in US
30 July 2012 – US-based manufacturer Ken’s Foods Inc has initiated a recall several sauce and dressing products over concerns they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The products – Golden Corral Tartar Sauce, Dickey’s BBQ Bean Sauce, Lee’s Cole Slaw Dressing, Fatz Tartar Sauce and Ken’s Tartar Sauce – contain onions from Gills Onions, which is currently at the centre of its own Listeria monocytogenes-related recall.
“No other Ken’s products are affected by this recall. As of this date, there have been no illnesses reported relating to this recall,” said a recall notice posted on the FDA website.
