A US coffee company claims this week to have come up with a stomach-friendly version of one of the most popular drinks in the world.

Coffee Legends, Inc. recently announced the introduction of a stomach-friendly gourmet coffee blend known as Johann Wulff's The Considerate Coffee.

During the normal coffee roasting process, natural acids form which can lead to heartburn, indigestion and stomach upset.

The new product undergoes a patented high-pressure steaming process to remove irritants that can aggravate the digestive system. Dr. Joseph Schmer, a gastroenterologist and Coffee Legends principal, said, "Our process removes the irritants while leaving the coffee aroma, flavour and caffeine completely intact. Our goal was to give coffee lovers their favourite drink without the common discomfort."

The company also guarantees that their coffee is cultivated through traditional, environmentally-conscious practices to ensure natural organic growth.

Over the past decade coffee has become a $14 billion (€15.6bn) annual industry.
