Food Safety recall round-up 26 March - 2 April
Millet balls with high tropane alkaloid levels
31 March - Austria: Alnatura has recalled Hirsebällchen because traces of plant component tropane alkaloids (TA) were detected.
The 'Natur, Erdnuss, ungarisch' (Nature, peanut, Hungarian) - flavoured products were placed on the market by dm drogerie markt.
Alnatura asked customers not to consume and return the millet balls for a refund and the marketed products have been taken off the shelves.
Tropane alkaloids occur naturally and serve the plant to ward off so-called "predators".
