At the Vitafoods exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland, this week Israeli soy ingredients company Solbar Hatzor presented two new product introductions to the company's portfolio.

"Bontex, formerly known as Bontrae, is a product range of textured soy proteins which we purchased from IFF at the end of last year," Gary Brenner from Solbar Hatzor told NutraIngredients.com on Wednesday. "The product is characterised by a very bland flavour profile and very quick hydration. The main product applications are instant soups and convenience meals," Brenner continued.

The second product introduced into the Solbar stable is the Solgen SR slow release isoflavone extract. "We have undergone a joint venture with the Israeli company BioDar, [well-known for its lycopene product LycoRed], and they are encapsulating our product. We have also carried out clinical studies in Jerusalem and Cincinnati that show that our new Solgen SR product is released over a period of twelve hours into the body," commented Brenner.
