Flavours and fragrances giant Symrise outlined plans to grow the menthol category for foods and personal care products after confirming the completion of a €16m expansion in Holzminden, Germany, yesterday.
A range of African-inspired flavours for beverages are being introduced by Symrise as it taps into the growing popularity of African ingredients which offer the novelty factor as well as health benefits.
Symrise has reported good sales growth in local currencies the first half of 2008 driven by flavours and emerging markets, although fragrance growth was hit by the drop-off in consumer spending on luxury goods.
German fragrance and flavours group Symrise saw a strong increase
in sales and profits for its Flavours and Nutrition Division in
full year 2006, largely attributed to innovations like its 'and'
range of products.
