Fresh produce is catching up with chicken as a major culprit of
Salmonella infections in the US, according to an analysis of
food-poisoning outbreaks by a consumer lobby group.
A revision of the guidelines on the investigation and control of
outbreaks of foodborne disease in Scotland was agreed this week by
the Scottish Executive Health Department and the Food Standards
Agency Scotland.
Finland's National Food Agency has just reported that last year 38
outbreaks involving a total of 1,120 people were accounted for on
its food poisoning register.
