Mouldy cocoa discovered at customs
Czech Republic: The Státní zemědělská a potravinářská inspekce (SZPI) and Celní správou (customs administration) have found almost 22 tons of mouldy cocoa beans.
As part of the controls on import of food from non-EU countries, the agencies identified the unsatisfactory consignment of raw cocoa beans from Nicaragua via Costa Rica.
A container ship with 478 sacks of the commodity was detained in the customs area and product was not placed on the market. The importer to the Czech Republic is Dajano Trading Company s.r.o.
