BaP and PAHs in coconut oil
Luxembourg: Coconut oil from the UK has been recalled from 11 countries due to benzo(a)pyrene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Luxembourg authorities said coconut oil Cocofresh 250ml and 500ml with date 9/3/2019 have polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon contamination (benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(a)anthracene, benzo(a)fluoranthene and chrysene).
BaP was found at 2.7 and 2.9 µg/kg - ppb and sum of PAH4: 27.1 and 28.7 µg/kg - ppb in the product also distributed to Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Switzerland and Ukraine, according to the RASFF portal.
