E. coli in fresh sweet basil
Norway: Asian Food Import AS has withdrawn basil from Thailand due to E. coli.
Thai Veggi Sweet Basil Leaves 80g was imported by Asian Food Import in Oslo and sold to several independent grocery stores in Norway from 3 April.
Bags are marked with lot number SDF035 and around 700 packs are impacted.
E. coli was found at 1680; 610; 410; 270 and 680 CFU/g, according to the RASFF portal. Presence of E. coli is an indicator the product is contaminated and there is a risk of pathogenic bacteria.
