No Guilt Bakes has launched a six-strong cake range in Planet Organic in response to what it calls growing demand for indulgent, keto-friendly treats.
No Guilt Bakes is the vision of cousins Taeya Abdel-Majeed and Maya Harruna, who wanted access to tasty cake time-outs that neither derailed their new ketogenic/low carb lifestyles or frustrated their natural sweet tooth tendencies.
Abdel-Majeed said: “Having sampled a number of the underwhelming, gritty offerings that existed online, we knew we had to turn our hands to baking, having experienced first-hand just how hard it is to give up sugar if there’s nothing worthwhile in delicious alternative ‘cake breaks’ to reassure us that we weren’t missing out.”
She said the latest cake data (Neilsen Dec 20) reaffirms that whilst big celebration cakes are in freefall owing to lockdown and the growth in home baking, there’s been a positive lipstick effect. “In times where there are reduction in big expenses and luxuries, consumer seek out small everyday affordable treats.”
