Salmonella in alfalfa sprout
Australia: SA Sprouts has recalled alfalfa sprout products after people became ill with Salmonella havana.
SA Health’s chief medical officer and chief public health officer, Professor Paddy Phillips, said there had been 21 confirmed cases and seven people had been hospitalised.
Gourmet Sprouts Trio Pack - Alfalfa, Snow Peas and Small Sprouted Bean 100g; Fresh Organic Sprouts Alfalfa & Chinese Cabbage 125g; Alfalfa & Onion 125g; Alfalfa & Garlic 125g; Green Alfalfa 125g; Alfalfa 125g, 200g, 1kg; Alfalfa & Mustard 125g; Alfalfa & Radish 125g and Salad Mix 175g with use by dates up to and including 28/6/2018 are affected.
They were sold at Drakes Foodland, IGA and numerous greengrocers in South Australia.
