Del Monte recall due to Cyclospora
US: Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. (Del Monte Fresh) has recalled vegetable trays due to contamination with Cyclospora.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said there are 144 laboratory-confirmed cases and six people have been hospitalised.
Vegetable trays containing fresh broccoli, cauliflower, celery sticks, carrots, and dill dip 6 oz., 12 oz. and 28 oz were sold to some retailers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond's, Sentry, Potash, Meehan's, Country Market, Food Max Supermarket and Peapod and have "Best If Enjoyed By" date of June 17, 2018 or earlier.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not identified which of the ingredients is the vehicle for the outbreak.
Cyclospora is a parasite that can cause the intestinal illness Cyclosporiasis.
