Food Safety Recall round-up 16-22 June 2018
STEC in herb mixes
Austria: Iglo has recalled frozen herb mixes containing parsley due to shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC).
'Petersilie 40g' with batch numbers L7333AR005 and L7334BR005 and date 02.2019 is affected.
In Germany, 8-Kräuter 50g, Gartenkräuter 40g, Salatkräuter 50g, Kräuter der Provence 50g, Italienische Kräuter mischung 50g and Suppengrün 70g are also affected.
The company said the reason for the extended recall is that STEC was found when examining a parsley sample. Since parsley is also in the seven variants listed above it recalled them all regardless of the production period.
Product was also sent to Finland, Norway, Spain and Sweden, according to the RASFF portal.
