Pesticide residues in tea from china
Czech Republic: SZPI has detained Chinese tea with up to 120 times the pesticide residue limit.
Státní zemědělská a potravinářská inspekce (SZPI) and Prague customs ensured the tea was not placed on the market.
Analysis of White Tea Shou Mei found dinotefuran (0.23 mg/kg, limit 0.01 mg/kg), imidacloprid (0.14 mg/kg, limit 0.05 mg/kg), lufenuron (0.20 mg/kg, limit 0.02 mg/kg), pyridaben (0.17 mg/kg, limit 0.05 mg/kg), tolfenpyrad (1.2 mg/kg, limit 0,01 mg/kg) and triazophos (0.13 mg/kg, limit 0.02 mg/kg).
In Wan Gong Gu Shu Pu'er Tea tolfenpyrad was found at 0,049 mg/kg, limit 0,01 mg/kg.
In Green Tea Xian Cha dinotefuran was detected at 0,022 mg/kg when the limit is 0,01 mg/kg.
Supplier of the tea to the country was Guangzhou City Liwan District Longwan Wang Tea Line, China.
