“The UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and Finland all now permit the production and consumption of edible insect products without requiring a long approval process, making them particularly attractive destinations for insect bread and other similar innovations,” says Brockman.
The EU’s Novel Food legislation was also streamlined as of January this year, making the approval process much simpler and quicker.
