Curcumin level in turmeric food supplement
Ireland: Natures Aid is withdrawing a turmeric food supplement as each capsule provides more than the acceptable daily intake of curcumin.
All batch codes and dates of Natures Aid Standardised Turmeric (High Potency Turmeric extract providing 95% Curcumins) are affected.
Curcumin is a yellow pigment which occurs naturally in turmeric.
An EFSA panel adopted an acceptable daily intake (ADI) of 0-3 mg per kg of bodyweight in 2010 based on the no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of a reproductive toxicity study.
