Food safety recall round-up 28 July - 3 August 2017
Pesticide problem in watermelon
Norway: BAMA has recalled a batch of watermelon from Spain after finding a pesticide residue above the limit.
The findings were made in samples of 'Vannmelon' supplied by Anecoop available for sale 25-27 July. Potentially, 2,640 of the watermelons could have been sold in different parts of the country and stores.
BAMA said the analyzes found the pesticide, which it did not name, in the shell, which few eat. The supplier has identified the source of error and corrective measures have been taken, it added.
