Scorpion in exotic fruit
Luxembourg: Authorities were informed by police of an incident where a person was stung by a scorpion hidden in a tray of exotic fruits from Thailand.
They said the presence of scorpions in exotic fruits is a 'very rare' event but it could not be ruled out more could be in the same lot.
Longong exotic fruit produced by Thai Fresh Garden International 250g and lot number TL002 was the product.
It was distributed in the Asia Market 5 Fort Elisabeth store in Luxembourg-Ville. The store has withdrawn products from sale upon request of the authorities. However, a very small quantity had already been sold.
