Contains 0.000.6% truffle - that's a lot of zeros
One of the nominees is German hard discounter Aldi’s truffle pasta which contains 0.0006% truffle in the final product.
“A well trained truffle pig would probably not find it so small is the truffle needle in Aldi's 'pasta with truffle' haystack!” says FoodWatch, which argues the "pontifical" size of the truffle on the pack is misleading.
While the EU's labelling directive requires manufacturers to use strawberry if they claim the product contains strawberry, it does not specify a minimum amount, says FoodWatch.
