Beef recalled after border inspection error
USA: Jinon Corporation is recalling 359 pounds of frozen boneless beef produced in Japan that were not presented at the US point of entry for inspection.
The firm, doing business as Nijiya Market, cut, repackaged and sold the products at a retail store in Torrance, California.
Items were produced in Japan on August 6, 2014 and imported in September, the problem was discovered when FSIS import staff reviewed records.
Packages of various sizes containing cuts of Tender Loin, Chuck Roll, Ribeye, Strip Loin, Brisket, Chuck Short Ribs, Inside, Outside, Short Ribs, Top Sirloin Butt, Clod, Knuckle, Short Plate and Shank all sold with a Nijiya Market label are involved.
