France-based food producer Croustipate has announced, after three years of R&D, the release of its “Qualité comme à la pizzeria” pizza dough range.

The dough has been tasted by a panel of consumers, according to the company: 93% of whom were won over by the pizza, and 80% of which compare its appearance to that of a pizzeria pizza.

Available now, the pizza comes in a 300g format for daily use, and a 500g format aimed at families. It can be cooked in 15 minutes.

In order to raise awareness of the product, Croustipate is planning an advertising campaign on social media, YouTube and television, to align with the Euros 2024.

This month, UK-based Nice Drinks is launching its canned wine at 2500 new distribution points across the UK, including Asda, Morrisons, Co-Op, Wizz Air and WHSmith Travel.

The canned wines come in flavours including pale rosé, sauvignon blanc and sparkling wine at an RRP of £2.50 for each 187ml can.

“Since creating NICE five years ago with my co-founder Jeremy May, we’ve been laser-focused on redefining the way the world wines by getting our quality, unpretentious wine into as many places as possible,” said Nice co-founder Lucy Busk.

“Securing four new nationwide listings for our canned range, a new airline and seeing our total wine solution go live in Co-op, all within a few weeks of each other, has marked a massive shift in the way consumers are drinking and enjoying wine. We have so much more in the pipeline for 2024 and can’t wait to further our mission.”

“The Euros are nearly here, and up and down the country, millions of households will soon be sitting down to enjoy the games from the best seat on earth – their own couch or favourite armchair. We know from our research that for various reasons from a stretched household budget to simply preferring to enjoy the occasion at home, people’s living rooms are going to take centre stage this year,” said The Pizza Company’s Andy Collins

“To mark this occasion, we have launched our latest edition in Tesco stores across the country, as the perfect game-day companion, along with a range of dips and puds.”

The pizza will be available from outlets of the UK supermarket retailer Tesco at an RRP of £5.25.

US-based plant-based meat company Beyond Meat has announced the launch of what it says is its ‘hottest’ burger to date, the jalapeño burger.

According to Beyond Meat’s own research, 79% of Brits enjoy spicy food, prompting the company to come up with a spicy burger of its own for the UK market in time for the Euros 2024. According to Beyond Meat, the burger is high in protein, with 16g of it per 100g.

“With more consumers serving plant-based foods at BBQs the Beyond Burger Jalapeño is a great option for grilling and for those looking to reduce their animal meat consumption, said Ellie Stevens, senior brand manager for GB at Beyond Meat. "This spicy burger is a perfect choice for meat lovers, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans alike, who want to continue eating what they love, no sacrifice required.”

The burger is out now chilled in 280 Sainsbury’s and 280 Tesco shops, and available online from Ocado. It will launch frozen in another 200 Sainsbury’s and 200 Tesco shops from 6 June. It has an RRP of £4.30 for two patties.

The upcoming cocktails include the cassis and sparkling wine spritz, and the elderflower and mint wine spritz.

“As always, we’re committed to delivering premium, trend-led products at fantastic prices. Asda’s new Pica Pica wine can range is ideal for those looking to enjoy high-quality wine ‘on-the-go’ or try new wines - we don’t doubt the cans will become a customer favourite this summer, especially with rumours of a summer heatwave on the horizon!” said Stephanie Fleming, Asda’s wine buyer.
