Ishida is making strong inroads against the competition with the success of its new split dual-lane tray sealer, the company claimed.

Demonstrating the new equipment at Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, Germany, Chris Richards, product specialist with Ishida, said the QX1100 SDL was generating a lot of new business for the company. He said the machine was unique in the market, and offered completely separate sealing lines within a single machine, with a footprint only “marginally larger” than a standard sealer.

Capable of 15 cycles a minute, Richards said the product had been on trial with a German customer for the last eight months and had resulted in an order for six new machines, and further interest was being expressed by customers in Russia and the Middle East as well.

Also launching at Anuga was Ishida’s new QX775 tray sealer – a smaller, single-lane version of the QX1100, but capable of the same speeds of 15 cycles a minute, he added.
