Meat slicer boosts processor’s productivity

Leading Middle East processor Al Nabil Company for Food Products has doubled its throughput since installing a new meat slicer.

The Marel PolySlicer 1000 can cut small-diameter products, such as salami, at twice the speed of the existing machines (up to 1,500 revolutions per minute) and for a similar cost. Salah Al-Johari, production manager at Jordanian company Al Nabil, said: “We are very happy with the new PolySlicer 1000. The machine is stable, our operators find it easy to use, the quality of our products is excellent and it has helped us double our throughput.”

Al Nabil operators received training on how to use the slicer and are now running 3 tonnes of products a day on it. Al-Johari added: “The service and training from Marel was very good. It helped us to quickly integrate the machine into our daily production and now we are running many of our products on it.”

Iceland-based equipment provider Marel invests 5 to 7% of its annual income in research and development, and has offices and subsidiaries in over 30 countries on six continents.
