Staphylococcus toxin in cheese
June - Canada: Les Dépendances is recalling La Cigogne brand "Munster Géromé" cheese because it may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria.
It was distributed at a retail level in Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and Quebec.
La Cigogne "Petit Munster Géromé" 200g all Best Before dates up to and including 2015 AU 06 with UPC 8 31014 41380 3 and "Munster Géromé" 800g all Best Before dates up to and including 2015 AU 06 are affected.
The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products but there have been no reports of illness
