Food safety recall round-up 7-13 February
Iodine levels prompt baby food recall
7 February - Germany: Milupa has recalled a particular batch of Aptamil PDF, a special food for premature infants after discharge from the hospital, after it was found to contain high iodine levels.
It only affects the powder version with the best before date 03/05/2015 and batch number 294432. The special food is available in hospitals and pharmacies.
Miupa's quality control department determined that the batch provided a higher content of the important nutrient iodine than usual.
"The quality of our products and the safety of our consumers is our highest priority. The recall is being conducted in close cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities," said the firm in a statement.
