Groupe Danone expects to conclude its acquisition of nutrition
company Numico in the first half of November, the two companies
said today, setting a timetable for the French group's bid to lead
the field in health and nutrition.
Royal Numico reported an impressive 13.4 per cent growth for the
third quarter, inviting speculation of a possible takeover as rival
companies are attracted to its portfolio of lucrative baby food

Danone, the French dairy product, bottled water and biscuits group,
