Danisco achieved 6 per cent in revenue for its full year 2009/10 and strong profit growth; all divisions with the exception of sweeteners contributed to its margin expansion.
Margin pressure in its sweeteners and Genencor business divisions has caused Danisco to lower its bottom-line outlook and take a long hard look at its production set-up for xylitol and other products.
Danisco has said it is close to concluding negotiations with
potential buyers of its sugar business, but is still working
towards spinning it off into a separate business by the end of 2008
in case a suitable deal cannot be struck.
Danisco recorded revenue of DKK 15,220 million in the first three
quarters of 2006/07, a period which saw significant structural
change within the company.
As expected, restructuring costs within Danisco's sugar division
have impacted full year results, though organic growth was
'satisfactory under the given trading conditions'.
Mirroring the state of play for ingredients companies operating
into today's climate, price pressures put the squeeze on third
quarter margins for ingredients giant Danisco.
