Hershey Halloween innovation strategy: overview
- Hershey has launched its largest Halloween range, with diverse seasonal products
- Limited editions and collectability reflect growing seasonal confectionery demand
- New ‘Hersheyween’ branding aims to boost Halloween consumer engagement
- Savoury snacks expand Hershey beyond traditional confectionery during Halloween
- Better-for-you options target health-conscious shoppers and broader snacking occasions
The Hershey Company has launched its biggest and most extensive Halloween line-up to date, offering “something for every tradition and celebration”.
The range includes limited-edition formats, Halloween-themed packaging and fan-favourites, highlighting the growing importance of novelty and collectability during seasonal celebrations.
There are variety packs, Count & Witch-themed KitKats, Hershey Cookies ‘N’ Creme Fangs and Reese’s Pumpkins.
And the confectionery giant isn’t stopping at sweet treats. It’s also stepping into seasonal snacking, with savoury bites including Pirate’s Booty (white cheddar puffs) and Reese’s Animal Crackers.
Plus, it’s going after the better-for-you market with spooky options including Halloween-themed SkinnyPop popcorn and LesserEvil Pumpkin Spice Popcorn, underscoring Hershey’s ambitions to position itself as a broader snacking player. A move mirrored across the industry, with Mondelēz International and Mars, Inc. signalling similar shifts.
Oh, and it’s also attempting a seasonal rebrand with the introduction of ‘Hersheyween’. We’re not sure it’ll catch on, but we admire the effort!

Hershey’s expanded Halloween range highlights how major manufacturers are rethinking the role of seasonal events in their growth strategies.
While novelty, limited editions and themed packaging remain central to Halloween, brands are increasingly using the event to showcase wider snacking portfolios, reflecting an industry push to diversify beyond confectionery and drive sales across categories.
