FoodNavigator and AgNavigator’s new event will explore the business case for sustainability

In only a few months, Climate Smart Food 2026, the event from FoodNavigator and AgNavigator, will be broadcast.

The online event will take place in two parts: Sourcing tomorrow’s ingredients, broadcast on 15 September, and Innovating for impact, on 22 September. It will be available on demand after these dates.

The webinar series will bring together big-name FMCGs, start-ups and experts to explore how the food industry is tackling one of the biggest challenges of our time: climate change.

Its focus will be not only on how food companies can improve their sustainability credentials to help the planet, but also on the business case for sustainability.

It will ask whether sustainability targets can boost the bottom line as well as help the planet; whether, as a long-term strategy, sustainability works for business.

Sourcing tomorrow’s ingredients

Food sustainability starts, of course, on the farm. That’s where Climate Smart Food will start as well.

The event will explore the increasing popularity of regenerative agriculture and, crucially, why major food companies are embracing it as part of their supply chains.

Agricultural practices that can help food companies mitigate the worst impacts of climate change on their margins will be explored as well.

It will explore how manufacturers can respond to crises in major commodities such as cocoa and to what extent other ingredients, like coffee, are exposed to similar dangers. It will look at how food companies can manage these challenges through reformulation.

The event will look at ingredients that have the potential to cut carbon emissions, as well as make supply chains more resilient.

Finally, it will explore how regulations such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) are shaping supply chains globally.

Innovating for impact

You can’t have sustainability without innovation and that’s what the second section of Climate Smart Food will focus on.

This segment will explore how upcycling food is not only a sustainable solution, but can be good for the bottom line.

It will look at strategies for a more circular economy, such as how waste can be cut with better packaging.

Investment trends in sustainability will be analysed, as well as how partnerships are driving sustainable innovation.

The event will look at the role of data and AI in building more sustainable food systems.

Finally, it will dive deep into the cutting edge of food tech, exploring how it is aiming to make the food system more sustainable.
