Finnish food manufacturer Fazer has identified the top five food trends for Nordic consumers in 2019, based on a 4000-strong survey and analyst insights.

The company commissioned YouGov to question over 4,000 Nordic consumers in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark aged between 18 and 64 on what they are looking for in food.

It found that 41% of Finns are interested in plant-based proteins, such as pulled oats or soy, to protect the environment. In Sweden, this was 31% and 23% in Denmark and Norway.

Finland could be a good place for companies to trial personalised nutrition: more than half (54%) said they would like to eat food with nutrient profiles customised to their own needs.

Fazer then combined these findings with insights from its own analysts and identified five Nordic trends for 2019.

Watch the video to find out what these are.
