Nestlé’s Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Alfonso Gonzalez Loeschen as chief executive officer (CEO) of Nespresso.
Loeschen, currently the CEO of Nespresso North America, will assume the role on 1 November 2025.
Loeschen began his career as an assistant marketing manager for Nestlé Mexico in 1992, and has since risen through the ranks.
He replaces Philipp Navratil, following his own promotion to Nestlé CEO. This, of course, came in the wake of the Laurent Freixe relationship scandal, which shook the industry and saw the disgraced businessman fired after just 12 months in the job.
It also follows the early exit of Nestlé chairman, Paul Bulcke, after investors held him responsible for the chaos at the food and beverage multinational.
“We are happy to announce that Alfonso will become the new CEO of Nespresso and a member of the Group Executive Board,” said Philipp Navratil, CEO of Nestlé, in a statement. “We look forward to working with him to advance our growth strategy for Nespresso. His extensive expertise and deep understanding of the portioned coffee category, along with Alfonso’s results-focused approach and talent to inspire teams, will enable him to drive performance and execution.”
